The Mississippi Delta Blues Society was established on December 10th, 2003 in Indianola, Mississippi by Carol and Ron Marble, Lemorris Strong, and Tom Bingham. The group's first meeting was held at the 308 Blues Club and Cafe. During this gathering, its founding members established the goals and objectives of the organization.

The Society's mission is to promote the Blues in the Mississippi Delta, and to support musicians and area Blues clubs. The Mississippi Delta Blues Society will exchange information about Blues related events, and will support community events and activities in the Delta.
